Circuit City store pickup

I just (well, not just now, but a little while ago) picked up the Xbox 360 Elite I ordered online this morning at Circuit City on Broadway.  The item was in stock, and ready for me to pick up.  All in all, I spent less time in the store than if I had went in and bought it.  An overall excellent experience.  Best Buy should use Circuit City as an example, where if their site shows product in stock, it actually is, in stock.

Plus I get 4x points from MyPoints for buying online. ^_^

Random gaming news

So a few notes from my weekend of gaming:

  1. Burnout Paradise. The single player mode of the game was great, albeit missing some split screen local multiplayer action. It gets old after about 20 minutes though, when challenges take you to the complete other end of the city and you need to spend 10 minutes driving back because you failed it. Online play is complete garbage. If I wanted street racing, I’d go play PGR or NFS. I really like the free-form format of Paradise (i.e., no waiting forever to start events like in Revenge) but this nonsense of picking your own routes adds uneccesary complexity to what could have been a great game. Road rage events are fun as hell though in the new Burnout.
  2. Undertow. This game is still completely gay. Even in co-op mode. At least it was free, so I don’t feel anything about deleting it.
  3. Bankshot 2. Loving it. I get my ass beat a lot, but the game is still fun for just relaxing.
  4. There were 2 other games I tried…one of them was like Bust-A-Move with bunnies. Creepy as fuck. Then there was this Japanese one which was like a cross between Galaga and Ecchi. I could not discern the objective of that game.

That’s all I have for now.
